When does the nursery open?
The nursery opens at 8.00 am and closes at 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. It is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
It also closes on New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, all Bank holidays, Christmas Week from Christmas Eve to 2nd of January. The nursery is open for the rest of the year.
If my child attends part time can I book additional sessions?
The nursery operates on strict staff to child ratios and we are limited in the number of children who can be in attendance at any one time. The nursery will always try to meet your needs for extra time and you should speak the nursery owner to see if we have availability.
What equipment do I need to provide for my child?
The nursery will advise you as to what is needed. It is normally restricted to personal items, such as nappies, wipes, cream, change of clothing, sun protection cream etc.
What can I expect from the nursery?
You can expect the nursery to carry out its duties in a highly professional manner. For your child to be cared for by a staff member who has a love of children and for the care to take place in an environment that is both stimulating and safe. You can also expect that your child's emotional, physical and development needs will be catered for in a sensitive and caring manner.
What do I need to send with my child to nursery?
Your child has a peg to hang a coat and bag, and space to put wellies or other outdoor shoes or boots.
They should bring a bag which can carry belongings back and forward to Nursery.
A complete change of clothes – just in case. It’s less distressing for children if they have their own clothes to change if necessary for whatever reason
Outdoor clothes – we like to go out in all weathers so please ensure that the children have appropriate clothing for the weather conditions – it’s very changeable climate! And bear in mind, playground play can sometimes be messy too! (Wellies, rain jackets, and waterproof trousers when required would be appreciated.) We always try to ensure that the children play outside every day unless it is raining very heavily. Puddle suits would be most welcome!
Please remember children are encouraged to take part in a variety of activities, some of which may be messy. We do provide aprons however, it is not advisable to wear ’best clothes’ to Nursery, as occasionally they can become dirty, with this in mind, please dress children appropriately.
A pair of soft indoor shoes- plimsolls or non-marking trainers are great.
Winter is already in the air, please make sure your child has a warm outdoor coat with them at nursery along with a hat, gloves, scarf and adequate footwear.
PLEASE NAME all belongings – to help us re-unite any lost items with their owners – especially socks, shoes and coats.
